It’s clear by now that no business can perform at its best without a solid online marketing presence on social media, blogs and local directories. Companies know they need it, but a lot of them are not sure where to start. As marketers, you have to sell them on not only the idea of a good established online presence, but why it’s important for them to secure their account names, profiles and URLs right now. Yes, the next most important things to secure for their brand, after acquiring their domain name, are their account names and profiles on social media, blogs, and local directories.
This is a “no-brainer” because this is something that every business owner should have right from the very beginning – but very so often, overlooked. For this webinar, I have outlined how you can help potential clients build their online presence through our brand new service.
Understand a Client’s Basic Online Needs
When a client wants to get noticed online, the first thing that has to happen is securing their web presence. This is their “online real estate” and this ranges from a good web domain and having their name across all forms of social media, blog sites or local directories.
You have to remember that when offering this to them, it just can’t be generic account sign ups. They know that profile creation online has now “evolved” and requires a custom, personal touch to them such as proper design, banners, and logos etc.
The Alternative to Fulfilling these Needs
There are alternatives to establishing your client’s online presence the fast and automated way. But I have looked at other options but it just doesn’t cut it. I have enumerated and elaborated on this in the webinar.
Here’s a preview of the webinar recording:
Barriers to Initial Closing for a Client
Of course, there will be some hesitation on the part of clients, and that’s understandable. The educational curve is the most common one as they need a better understanding of what it is you’re offering and the benefits to them. This is when they ask questions about the campaigns, why they’re important and when they can see results. You also have to manage expectations, have conversation with them about ROI metrics and what the expense barrier will be.
You will also need to establish a year-long commitment for an ongoing campaign. A lot of clients get cold feet and may not want to commit for that long. All things considered, the biggest barrier is developing trust in a short period of time.
The Do-it-Yourself Sales Approach
The DIY approach is favored among online marketing coaches during seminars since it’s a simple two-step process:
- Identify what the client needs to do for their online presence
- Explain why it is important they set themselves up online. This will require a lot of customization and design, all of which can be very costly.
This approach establishes trust with your client with you acting as a coach; compared to automated setups of social accounts, the DIY approach has a one-time cost instead of a monthly/yearly one, and overall does not require a strategy or ROI.
More importantly, when clients ask what it will take for you to sort out what’s needed with their presence, they are essentially asking for help, not feel like they are being pitched to. Your clients may DIY, or you may offer doing it for them — and we’ll do it for you as your trusted outsourcing partner.
Introducing our New Service
We’re proud to introduce the Brand Establisher as a new service for our partners. It has a one-time cost and will have everything your client needs to get their online presence on social media, blogs and local directories started up.
It sets up accounts for YouTube, Blogger, Twitter, Google+ and Facebook. It also sets up for other local directories, as well as social and blog sites.
Additionally, a seven page Word/PDF document is provided for our partners to help them sell this service as their own. This sales collateral details the importance of establishing a digital presence and a complete list of sites that will be secured with your client’s brand name.
The Upsell for the New Service
Once you have gained new clients for this new service, don’t just stop there. Instead, set up a marketing coaching call to discuss what should be done for their online brand promotion. Clients can be coached on the minimal or recommended next steps. This is where the upsell can happen. You impart something valuable on what should be done to promote their brand and at the same time upsell to them other services that will exactly do just that – expand their brand presence online.
The checklist provided also has no on-page optimization. It can be presented without it, but can also be offered as an additional service for clients. Overall, this service will give them a good idea on where to begin with their social media and local buzz campaigns.
