Google’s head of search spam, Matt Cutts, on March 13, announced new updates with Google’s Penguin and Panda algorithms and new link network targets in 2013. SEO experts were suspecting the latest Panda update to come out March 15 or March 18.
Some webmasters and SEOs believe that Google already released an update to their Panda algorithm late yesterday. However, Google is not likely to confirm this update (as well as future Panda updates) since Panda will be incorporated into the search algorithm called the “Panda Everflux,” their overall continuous algorithm updates. Accordingly, the next Panda updates will be more real-time but will be less noticeable to webmasters and SEOs.
On January 22, Google confirmed another Panda update (version number 24) which was reported to have impacted about 1.2% of English queries. Panda, of course, launched on February 2011 had an enormous impact on the SEO industry, particularly the online publishing sector, which forced some companies to change names, change business models, and even stop their businesses altogether.
